 2017 Daffodil Show

   Our annual Daffodil Show is again being held with the Penn State Extension of Allegheny County Master Gardeners’ “Garden Marketplace” and “Symposium” of Western Pennsylvania. It will be held at the Shady Side Academy Ice Rink, 423 Fox Chapel Road, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15238 as was last year. The Ice Rink is at the back of the campus, after winding between the buildings.

   This Show is free, and will be open to the public after judging is completed from 10:30 AM Saturday, April 29, 2017, until closing at 3:00 PM.

    Everyone is invited to come view the Show, and anyone who grows daffodils is welcome to enter blooms in the Show. You do not need to be a club member. It is strongly recomended that daffodils be entered from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM Friday, April 28, 2017. There will be more time for grooming and staging blooms, plus DHSWP members will be able to answer questions on how to exhibit your flowers. Bring those daffodils’ names if you have them, but flowers can still be entered even if you don’t know the names.

    Daffodils may also be entered from 6:00 AM to 7:45 AM Saturday, April 29, 2017 – before judging begins at 8:00 AM.

    DHSWP volunteers are still needed for both Friday and Saturday. We need all the hands we can get. Sign up and show up to pitch in. There are many different ways to help make this our best Show ever. Just get involved.

    Since our Show closes at 3:00 PM our guests have the opportunity to visit and enjoy our Show, then still have time to drive to Washington, PA to see Joe Hamm’s Regional Daffodil Show which will remain open until 7:00 PM Saturday. For our DHSWP volunteers and members, you can travel to see Joe’s Show the next day as it will also be open on Sunday 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. It will be worth your time and efforts to get there.
